Dockery Ford - Mark Donohue - #11B 1965 Shelby G.T 350R Limited Edition - Estimated Production 500 Pieces This is one of the few original 1965 GT 350 "R" models ever produced by Shelby American. The GT350R was the first time an American manufacturer offered a strictly-for-racing competition model which could be purchased from a dealer and which would require nothing after delivery. These cars could literally be delivered directly to the track and raced the way they came off the transport. This particular "R" model was 1 of 2 sponsored by Dockery Ford of Morristown, N.J. for the 1966 season. The Dockery dealership was very involved in racing and wanted a big name driver for their car. So why not go for gold and hire Mark Donahue? Mark entered Dockery's GT350R in nine races during the 1966 season and notched four victories!*Minor changes may occur in final production

Limited Edition - Estimated Production 600 Pieces Features Include: • Opening doors • Poseable steering • Highly detailed 455 engine • Detailed interior with folding seats • Individually serialized In the winter of 1970, a Mr. Wayne Hagen caught wind of some rattling news: the Judge was retiring. In this case, no political figure was stepping down but rather Pontiac's sportster of the same name. "He wanted one his whole life but couldn't swing it financially,' recalls his wife, Mary. "Realizing this would be his last chance to get one, he figured he should get moving." In April of 1971, the lovebirds swung by Hansord Pontiac, in Minneapolis, only to be greeted with a terrible announcement: they were too late. "The sales staff said sadly we had missed the boat in getting in an order,' recalls Mary. Officially, the Judge was discontinued in February and here it was nearly a month later. "We told them we weren't interested anymore and started to leave,' said Mary. "Before we could get to the door, they said they would call up Pontiac and ask if they'll make one more." Further pressing their luck, the Hagens had a special request: the car needed to be painted in their favorite color, Orbit Orange. "We had to have one in that color, we just loved it,' gushed Mary. Easier said than done, that vibrant hue was no longer available for the 1971 model year. Still, eager for a sale, the dealership put in a special paint

He is known as "Big Daddy" to drag racing fans around the world. Always a pioneer in the field of drag racing, he perfected the rear-engine "top fuel dragster design", an innovation motivated by the loss of part of his foot in a dragster accident. This design was notably safer, since it put most of the fuel processing and rotating parts of the dragster behind the driver. The driver was placed in "clear air," in front of nearly all the mechanical components, thus protecting the driver and allowing him to activate a variety of safety equipment in the event of catastrophic mechanical failure or a fire. Garlits was also an early promoter of the full-body, fire-resistant driver's suit - complete with socks and gloves, often branded as Nomex. Garlits was the first drag racer to officially surpass the 170, 180, 200, 240, 250, and 270 miles per hour marks in the quarter mile; he was also the first to top 200 in the 1/8 mile. He has been inducted into several Halls of Fame and has won many awards during his career.
