Cheering on NASCAR had become an American pastime. However, the rock stars behind the wheel were essentially piloting the very same cars that enthusiasts could buy at their local dealership. Edward Glenn “Fireball” Roberts Jr. was one such driver. His 1962 season was one for the record books. Of his 206 career races, he finished in the top-5 just shy of half the time, and in the top-10 nearly 60% of the time! In 1962, he won both the Daytona 500 and the Firecracker 250 driving a black and gold Pontiac built by the award-winning Smokey Yunick, and sponsored by Jim Stephens Pontiac of Daytona Beach.To commemorate his astounding season, Stephens Pontiac developed the 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix “Fireball” Roberts Edition. It was painted rich Starlight Black with the same gold accents as Roberts’ winning racer. Under the hood was the dealer-installed 421ci powerplant. The Hurricane entered squadron service in 1937 and was the workhorse of Britain's air defense during World War II. It became renowned during the Battle of Britain, accounting for 60 percent of the RAF air victories in the battle.The Mk.IID was the tropicalized version mainly used in North Africa after the entry of Italy in the war. Although outclassed in the air by the Luftwaffe's Me-109 and Italy's MC.202, the Hurricane retained an edge in ground-attack role due to its impressive armament. It is a two-seat twinjet long-range supersonic interceptor and fighter-bomber originally developed for the United States Navy. With top speed more than twice the speed of sound, the F-4 established 16 speed, altitude, and time-to-climb records. An all-around performer, the F-4 Phantom was the first aircraft to be simultaneously used by the USAF, USN and USMC, while also serving in approximately 11 other countries.The Jolly Rogers have always displayed some of the most recognizable squadron markings in the world: sinister white skull-and-crossbones on all-black tails, named for flags flown by pirate ships about to attack. Fighter Squadron 84 (VF-84) adopted the Jolly Roger nickname in 1960. They flew the F-4 Phantom starting in 1964 until they were transitioned to the F-14's.

UH-1 US Army Huey Medevac Postage Stamp CollectionDie-cast model with plastic display stand Developed by Bell Helicopter, the “Huey” was nicknamed after the phonetic sound of its original designation, the HU-1 Iroquois. In 1962 the designation was changed to UH-1, but “Huey” remained and became so popular that Bell began casting the name on the helicopter’s anti-torque pedals. The Huey was developed in 1952 in order to meet the United States Army’s requirement for a medical evacuation and utility helicopter. With its first flight on October 20, 1956, the Huey began arriving in Vietnam in 1963. Used for MEDEVAC, command and control, and air assault, Hueys became, more than any other aircraft, a symbol of the Vietnam War. The Huey’s ability to carry patients inside the aircraft was a key element in the reduction of mortality and morbidity. Medical personnel could begin treatment during the flight to a field hospital, reducing the average delay until treatment to one hour, helping to reduce the mortality rate to 1 death per 100 casualties. With the unmistakable sound of its blades, the sound of an approaching Huey was said by those that served in Vietnam to be the sound of rescue, the sound of freedom and the sound of going home.
