Blues Brothers - 1974 Dodge Monaco Police Pursuit in Black and White Made of diecast metalFeatures Include:• Opening hood• Accurate interior and chassis• Steerable front wheels• Detailed engineProminently featured in the 1980 Universal Pictures film The Blues Brothers, this 1974 Dodge Monaco was a decommissioned Mount Prospect police car, purchased by Elwood Blues at an auction after he traded a previous car (a 1968 Cadillac Sixty Special) for a microphone. When describing the car to his brother Jake Blues, Elwood says, “It’s got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It’s got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It’s a model made before catalytic converters so it’ll run good on regular gas.” The sedan has the ability to perform seemingly impossible stunts, such as flipping backwards in midair and even “flying” for very brief periods of time. Clearly unimpressed, especially considering the cigarette lighter does not work, Elwood slams on the gas and jumps over an open drawbridge. Jake nonchalantly states, “Car’s got a lot of pickup.” Elwood retorts, “So what do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?” Jake replies, “Fix the cigarette lighter.”

M4A1 Sherman 'Beute Panzer'Having the opportunity to capture a fully working example of your enemy’s latest battle tank is a situation which was highly prized by all the combatant nations during the Second World War, allowing their capabilities to be assessed and to ascertain the most effective ways of destroying them. This detailed evaluation would usually be carried out by a specialist Military High Command unit well behind the front lines, but getting your war prize back there during the heat of battle could be a challenging process. This particular early Sherman tank was captured by 1st Company, 501st Heavy Tank Battalion in Tunisia, during operations to counter the Anglo-American invasion of French North Africa in late 1942 and must have looked rather conspicuous parked amongst the German Tiger 1 and Panzer III tanks which were heading towards the fighting. The fascinating hand painted warning on the side of the Sherman is basically warning German troops not to remove any items from the enemy tank, as it has been commandeered by German Military High Command and is destined to be sent back to Germany for test and evaluation. In addition to the rather crudely applied Balkenkreuz markings on the turret of the Sherman, the unit responsible for securing such a significant trophy also ensured their details were included in the hand painted warning on the hull sides of the tank, presumably knowing that the message would be seen by thousands of military personnel during its journey back to Germany and wanting their achievement recognized.The German Army had first en

The flight crew surprised him with a new paint job, a big red M with letters trailing off it to read "MIG MAD MARINE" to change his luck. He shot down three MiGs near the Yalu River in the last 2 weeks of the war.After Korean War John Glenn (Colonel. USMC. Ret.) went on to be a test pilot, an astronaut and US Senator.

A-6 intruders first saw action during the Vietnam War, where the aircraft's long range and heavy payload coupled with its ability to fly in all-weather made it invaluable during the war. The Intruder's side by side seating enhanced its ability to fulfill its typical mission profile of flying low to deliver its payload. The intruder used vastly upgraded navigation and attack systems and advanced radar to navigate through mountain valleys at low levels in order to minimize the aircraft's risk from enemy radar-guided missles. The VA-52 Knightriders were proud operators of the Intruder from November 1967 to December 1994. With its first flight on October 20, 1956, the Huey began arriving in Vietnam in 1963. The Huey’s ability to carry patients inside the aircraft was a key element in the reduction of mortality and morbidity. Medical personnel could begin treatment during the flight to a field hospital, reducing the average delay until treatment to one hour, helping to reduce the mortality rate to 1 death per 100 casualties. With the unmistakable sound of its blades, the sound of an approaching Huey was said by those that served in Vietnam to be the sound of rescue, the sound of freedom and the sound of going home.
