It is now on permanent display at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, Australia."George" flew almost 90 combat missions over occupied Europe with No.460 Squadron, and its second most prolific surviving Lancaster, behind "S for Sugar" of No. 467 Squadron RAAF (137 operations). Most operational Lancaster were shot down before they had reached 20 operations.Upon its retirement from combat duty in 1944, "George was flown to Australia by an all-RAAF crew of Bomber Command veterans. The bomber played a major part in raising War Bonds during a round-Australia publicity trip. It's 4 Merlin engines and unobstructed 33-foot long bomb bay gave it the capacity to carry the largest payload of any bomber in the war. The Lancaster was primarily a night bomber, but it was versatile enough to excel in many other roles, including daytime precision bombings, and it was tough enough to return to base after heavy damage.Lancaster NX611 "Just Jane" is named after a popular wartime cartoon character in the Daily Mirror. It is the main attraction of the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, opened to the public in 1988 by Lincolnshire farmers Fred and Harold Panton as a memorial to their older brother who died during the war. It is currently undergoing restoration to full flying status.

The P-47 was the heaviest single engine WWII fighter and the first piston powered fighter to exceed 500 mph.This P-47 has been painted to represent "Snafu" as flown by the 78th Fighter Group stationed in England in late 1944 to battle enemy Luftwaffe fighters and provide escort to Allied heavy bombers. It has been restored to its wartime condition by The Fighter Collection, a private operator of airworthy vintage military aircraft based at historic Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire, UK.

Goodyear Blimp Postage Stamp Collection Die-cast metal plane with plastic stand When the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was founded in 1898, America was feeling the full effects of the Industrial Revolution. Capitalizing on that momentum and looking for unique ways to expand beyond tires, Goodyear enterered into the business of lighter-than-air balloons and aircraft. This eventually led to the creation of one of America's most enduring corporate icons, the Goodyear Blimp. The blimp was used mainly for advertising and capturing aerial views of live sporting events on Eaglevision. This allows the aircraft to display bright, multi-colored, animated words and images. While Goodyear was in the airship business before the Pilgrim was built in 1925, it is consdered the first public relations blimp for the Company. 2015 marked the 90tth year of continuous operation of the Goodyear airship program, which is the longest in history and certainly the most successful.
