He wanted to turn Ford's secretary sports car into a track champion. So, Ford sent him three white K-code 1965 Mustangs. Serial number 5R002 would become the very first GT350R prototype and is arguably the most important Mustang in history! 5R002 would have multiple parts tested on it with drivers such as Ken Miles and Bob Bondurant behind the wheel, fenders widened by hand, the famous rear window designed by Peter Brock that let air escape, reverse hood scoop, and so much more! 5R002, aka the "Flying Mustang", would win its first race it ever entered on February 14,1965 with Ken Miles piloting the car to victory. He is known as "Big Daddy" to drag racing fans around the world. Always a pioneer in the field of drag racing, he perfected the rear-engine "top fuel dragster design", an innovation motivated by the loss of part of his foot in a dragster accident. This design was notably safer, since it put most of the fuel processing and rotating parts of the dragster behind the driver. The driver was placed in "clear air," in front of nearly all the mechanical components, thus protecting the driver and allowing him to activate a variety of safety equipment in the event of catastrophic mechanical failure or a fire. Garlits was also an early promoter of the full-body, fire-resistant driver's suit - complete with socks and gloves, often branded as Nomex. Garlits was the first drag racer to officially surpass the 170, 180, 200, 240, 250, and 270 miles per hour marks in the quarter mile; he was also the first to top 200 in the 1/8 mile. He has been inducted into several Halls of Fame and has won many awards during his career.

Police - Ford Ranger Raptor Pickup TruckThe Police Raptor demonstration vehicle modelled was converted by Ford’s Special Vehicle Preparation Team in Essex during 2019, shortly after the Raptor was launched. The base vehicle cab was stripped down to gain access to the roof and dash areas so it could be fitted with an all-LED blue light and search light facility, plus a sophisticated communications system and ANPR capability. It was then finished with the high performance Battenburg livery now used by all UK police vehicles. The Raptor’s 2-litre Bi-Turbo Ford EcoBlue diesel engine, which develops 500 Nm of torque, was left standard as was the four-wheel drive system which distributes all that torque to BF Goodrich K02 33-inch all-terrain tyres.This high-profile vehicle has been loaned to a number of police forces for evaluation prior to possible purchasing and has been used by many Police Rural Crime teams. It was found to be especially useful in tackling hare coursing and farm thefts where off road pursuits across farmland are required, an unusual task to which the high-performance Raptor is particularly well suited. The vehicle is designed to tackle fearsome terrain with ease while leaving the occupants comfortable and alert thanks to its race-bred off-road FOX Pro suspension. The Baja desert race mode setting improves the vehicle’s high-speed off-road performance, while the impressive 10-speed automatic transmission makes sure the Raptor is always in the right gear at the right time, whatever the conditions.
