The biggest change was the cutting back of performance options due to the Clean Air Act of 1970 which slowed down the muscle car craze, but it didn’t stop there. From the 1972 Plymouth B-body lineup, a Road Runner with a 440 was considered top-of-the-line. In the U.S. and Canada, a total of 672 Plymouth Road Runner GTXs were produced in 1972. From that, 453 were automatics and 219 were four-speeds. For the first time ever, Auto World is proud to bring you this 1972 Plymouth Road Runner in FE5 Rallye Red with tank track stripes. It also features dual snorkel hood scoops, white bucket seats, dual chrome mirrors, and Rallye wheels. All previous owners preserved a variety of reports, receipts, and printed materials detailing its history. Adding to its distinction, this 1969 Shelby GT-500 is fully-documented as one of the first 100 built. Under the hood is the original Cobra Jet V8 with the VIN to match. Specific to the Shelby is the fiberglass body panels, front bumper, grille, headlights, and 5-scoop NACA duct hood. Already in amazing condition, it was restored to show quality and displayed on the red carpet at MCACN in 2019, attracting high-praise from even the most particular Shelby connoisseurs.Auto World has replicated this award-winning 1969 Shelby GT-500 in highly-detailed 1:18 scale. 1966 Pontiac GTO in Yellow and Black - Restomod Limited Edition - Estimated Production 750 Pieces Features Include: • Opening doors, trunk, and hood • Poseable steering • Plumbed and wired engine • Street fighter wheels and tires • Fully detailed chassis • Folding front seats By any calculation, 1966 was a momentous year for the GTO. The original muscle car had come into its own in persona and popularity. It even became a separate series featuring the hardtop, pillared sports coupe and convertible. The GTO's all-new body incorporated Coke-bottle side styling and a recessed backlight, with sail panels that provided a semi-fastback appearance. Graduating from the tough, boxy street brawler look of 1965, the '66 was refined with integrated shapes. Its front bumper became an integral part of the nose, closely following the curves of the newly sculpted split grilles and headlamp bezels. Parking lamps were set into the grilles à la the 1963 and 1964 Grand Prix's, and the grilles were blacked out--a muscle car styling cue that Pontiac initiated on the GTO in 1964 and would be used by much of its competition going forward. This lowered 66' GTO Restomod includes a killer custom paint job, with black street fighter wheels and tires. This is something you do not miss cruising on your downtown strip!
