"It's just something about the X-pipe Boom Tube exhaust and the individual throttle bodies that give it a wild sound," Ben Grasso says. "This car started with a dream that the ugly duckling of Mopars could become something spectacular," "I wanted to build a car like Dodge would have if the consideration of mass production and government interjection didn't exist, and I think I've achieved that," Ben says proudly. Most people start a shop with the intention of building supercars like this one. Ben had it a little backward, or forward, depending on how you look at it. The car had been bounced around friends' houses for storage for over seven years when Ben decided to tackle this build. Originally wearing purple paint, this Coronet inspired the name and theme of his new business, Plum Floored Creations. He specializes in Mopar muscle rejuvenated with modern powerplants, suspensions, and electronics. Beyond all the bells and whistles installed throughout the engine bay, interior, and undercarriage, the most impressive modifications lie beneath the paint. Ben started off with a stock-bodied car, that needed a little help. The guys from Year One came to the rescue with fresh quarter-panels, a rear window filler, and trunk floor. This sheetmetal freshening gave Ben a clear vision of the car's potential. Coupled with Plum Floored Creations, Paintshop101 gave the Super Bee a whole new flair with a relocated and heightened hood scoop, Coronet R/T-inspired side scoops, and most striking, the modified front fascia.

From the 1972 Plymouth B-body lineup, a Road Runner with a 440 was considered top-of-the-line. In the U.S. and Canada, a total of 672 Plymouth Road Runner GTXs were produced in 1972. Built at the GM plant in Flint, Michigan, it is thought to be 1 out of 108 GS 455 Stage 1 Buick cars that were painted Burgundy Mist with a white roof. That number includes automatics. It’s also 1 out of only 193 Stage 1 models with a 4-speed that sported the optional air conditioner. Peek at the interior, and you’ll find all-white seats, matching door panels, black carpeting, and a detailed dash.Although in pristine condition, this wasn’t always the case as this gem was hidden away in a shop for a 5-year restoration project. Not for nothing, that long journey paid off. Still with all its original metal, and even better than before, it was entered into the 2021 MCACN show where it scored the emerald-level award with the highest points for a stock Buick. The original muscle car had come into its own in persona and popularity. It even became a separate series featuring the hardtop, pillared sports coupe and convertible. The GTO's all-new body incorporated Coke-bottle side styling and a recessed backlight, with sail panels that provided a semi-fastback appearance. Graduating from the tough, boxy street brawler look of 1965, the '66 was refined with integrated shapes. Its front bumper became an integral part of the nose, closely following the curves of the newly sculpted split grilles and headlamp bezels. Parking lamps were set into the grilles à la the 1963 and 1964 Grand Prix's, and the grilles were blacked out--a muscle car styling cue that Pontiac initiated on the GTO in 1964 and would be used by much of its competition going forward. This lowered 66' GTO Restomod includes a killer custom paint job, with black street fighter wheels and tires. This is something you do not miss cruising on your downtown strip!
