So-Cal Speed Shop - 1932 Ford Hot Rod Pickup in Red and White Limited Edition - Estimated production is 400 Pieces Features Include: • Opening doors, hood, and tailgate • Poseable steering • Wired and plumbed Chevrolet engine • Detailed interior • Detailed chassis • Diecast metal body • Serialized plate first sample images - final product will vary slightyUnlike many tales, the story of the So-Cal Speed Shop is not one made up by some clever marketing types; it's a true story of friendship, hot rods and the need for speed. The story begins on March 22, 1922, in Los Angeles, California, with the birth of Alex Xydias. Although his father was a prominent producer of silent movies, Alex's childhood was fairly normal, and like most young boys, he naturally gravitated towards automobiles. His first hot rod, a '29 Ford roadster with a milled head and a chopped flywheel, which he drove to Fairfax High School, was paid for with part-time earnings. However, his life, like that of so many young men, was about to change when, in 1942, he joined the Army Air Corps, serving as a B-17 engineer. On the day of his discharge-March 3, 1946-using some borrowed money, Alex opened the first So-Cal Speed Shop on Olive Avenue in Burbank. Over the following decades, So-Cal Speed Shop would build some of the most iconic hot rods for many of the most notable collectors on the planet. Their innovation and attention to detail set the bar in the hot rod industry.

1980 Dodge Step Side Pickup Truck in Black with Multi-Colored Sport StripesMade of diecast metalFeatures Include:• Opening doors hood, and tailgate• Accurate interior and chassis• Steerable front wheels• Detailed engine• Newly tooled hood and quad-headlight front grille It was said, a 1980 Dodge pickup could play as hard as it worked. The D series was a line of pickup trucks that was sold by Dodge from 1961 to 1980, over three distinct generations. The list of changes Dodge made to the D Series was extensive, and included both substantial mechanical upgrades as well as smaller features that could be added together to create overall pleasant experience. The custom-truck scene blossomed into a lifestyle on the West Coast, with trucks of all types used to haul cool toys. Dodge capitalized on this trend by creating adult toys with special graphics packages across many of their vehicle lines. This particular black exterior body includes the traditional Utiline bed and custom trim referred to as Gradated Sport Stripes. The multi-colored stripes consists of large DODGE lettering at the bottom of the doors that go from the rockers up and run to the back of the truck. The tailgate has huge PICK-M-UP lettering as well as matching stripes which wrap around the top of the hood.
