Panavia Tornado GR.4 ZA548, RAF No.31 Squadron ‘Goldstars’ Retirement Scheme, RAF Marham, March 2019Wingspan 7.6"Having the distinction of being one of final two RAF squadron's to operate the Panavia Tornado, No.31 squadron were determined not to allow their long association with this exceptional aircraft go unheralded. During November 2018, Tornado GR.4 ZA548 emerged from the paint shop at RAF Marham wearing a distinctive new disbandment scheme, which marked 35 years of Tornado operations for the squadron and featured the silhouette of a Tornado on the tail of the aircraft, with the unit's famous 'Goldstar' emblem placed on top of it. The black spine of the aircraft also carries the wording '31 Squadron Tornado 1984-2019' and marks 35 years of Tornado operation, initially from bases in Germany, right up until the final days at RAF Marham. The gold star, which appears on the squadron's crest is a representation of the 'Star of India' and marks No.31 Squadron's heritage as the first military unit to fly in India. Tornado ZA548 would go on to undertake a series of high profile national flypasts and official RAF events during the final months of the Tornados service career, helping to give this Cold War warrior the fitting send-off it deserved. This scale representation of the aircraft is taking its place in the Aviation Achieve range alongside the other two specially presented disbandment Tornado models (AA33619 and AA33620) released earlier this year, with the trio making a fitting diecast tribute to an aircraft which served the Royal Air Force with such distinction. Even though the ground attack/reconnaissance variant of the Panavia Tornado was charged with performing some of the most demanding roles carried out by Royal Air Force aircraft, often acting as either an aviation peacekeeper, or hard hitting enforcer, the announcement of the aircraft's impeding withdrawal at the beginning of 2019 was greeted with an outpouring of affection by aviation enthusiasts, in addition to aircrew past and present. Thankfully, the last two squadrons operating these hard working aircraft were allowed to mark the final few months of RAF Tornado operation in some style, which included presenting no fewer

Blackjack - Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4, ZJ914 As if a Typhoon display wasn’t appealing enough as an Airshow attraction, RAF officials sanctioned the ‘special presentation’ of their display jet for the 2021 season, a scheme which immediately ensured that Typhoon ZJ914 went on to become the highest profile aircraft in current RAF service. The scheme is a real head-turner, taking design inspiration from the Union Flag and Royal Air Force roundel, applied over a smart black aggressor scheme and it didn’t take long before it worked its way into the hearts of enthusiasts and aviation photographers everywhere. Colloquially referred to as ‘Blackjack’, the RAF’s display Typhoon is a headline performer of growing repute and for the 2022 Airshow season, was flown by Flt Lt Adam O’Hare, operating the aircraft under the dramatic callsign ‘Anarchy 1’. Flight Lieutenant O’Hare took the stunning good looks of his jet and married it with a dynamic display routine full of exciting high energy manoeuvres and high-speed passes, making full use of the aircraft's powerful afterburners to leave spectators in awe and desperate for more. Ensuring the RAF Typhoon was always the highlight of any display in which it appeared, Flt Lt ‘Paddy’ O’Hare used every ounce of power his Typhoon’s EJ200 engines could generate to demonstrate the incredible agility of the aircraft, ensuring that everyone went home with an appealing selection of photographs, and a renewed appreciation of the Typhoon's impressive performance after every show.

Rolls Royce Sedance de Ville in Yellow and Black - James Bond 007 - Goldfinger (1964) One of James Bond's most memorable foes was Auric Goldfinger, 'the man with the Midas touch', and the owner of this iconic Rolls Royce Sedance de Ville. Driven by Oddjob, his deadly Korean manservant, the car formed a crucial part of Goldfinger's plans as a smuggler, with parts of the vehicle recast from melted down gold bullion. This enabled Goldfinger to move the precious metal across borders undetected. The passenger compartment remained the height of luxury and concealed a pull-down table where Goldfinger begrudgingly signed a £5,000 cheque to Bond - his prize for winning their game of golf. The Rolls Royce Sedance de Ville was the first vehicle in the company portfolio to be powered by a twelve-cylinder engine that weighed in at over 7,000 pounds and was capable of cruising at over 100 miles an hour. This vehicle's numberplate AU 1 is reference to the chemical symbol for gold on the periodic table.

McDonnell Douglas Phantom FG.1 XV592/L, RAF No.111 Squadron - Leuchars, Fife, Scotland - Late 1970s Features Include:• Detailed crew figures• Drop Tank• Opening Canopy • Optional Armaments • Flight stand• Wingspan 9.6"• Optional landing gear Although some may argue that the American McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom was an acquisition which was almost forced upon the Royal Air Force during the late 1960s, Britain would soon come to appreciate the rugged qualities of this magnificent aeroplane and accept that it presented them with a hugely capable multi-role platform.McDonnell Douglas F-4K (FG.1) Phantom XV592 had the distinction of being the last aircraft produced for the Royal Navy and it would go on to serve aboard HMS Ark Royal in the markings of No.892 Naval Air Squadron (as they knew they would be the last unit, they added a large black Omega symbol to their aircraft’s tails), until the withdrawal of Britain’s last big carrier at the end of the 1970s.XV592 would later be transferred to the care of the Royal Air Force at Leuchars in Scotland, where she would perform an air defense role, patrolling the North Sea, challenging the frequent Soviet incursions into British air space. Her RAF camouflage scheme could hardly be more different from the extra dark sea grey and white colours she adopted during her Navy days, presenting the mighty Phantom in a much more sinister manner, even though both proved incredibly popular with enthusiasts.

Curtiss P40 Warhawk -USAAF- 2nd Lt. Kenneth M Taylor - Wheeler Field, Pearl Harbor Raid - 7th December, 1941Wingspan 6.2"Having been posted to the US Army Air Corps’ 47th Pursuit Squadron at Wheeler Field on Honolulu Island in April 1941, Second Lieutenant Kenneth Taylor quickly showed his flying abilities and was given the position of flight commander soon after his arrival. In late November, the 47th Pursuit Squadron and their Curtiss P-40B fighters were sent to nearby Haleiwa Field for aerial gunnery exercises, shooting at flag targets and perfecting their aim. At the end of a busy period, Taylor and his squadron mate friend George Welch were granted weekend leave, so on the evening of 6th December and wearing full black tie dress, they headed for the Officers Club at Hickham Field, expecting a ‘real good time’. In the morning, while still sleeping off the effects of the previous night, the pair woke to the sound of low flying aeroplanes, explosions and machine gun fire - Wheeler Field was under attack. Pulling on their tuxedo trousers, Taylor rang ahead to Haleiwa and told them to prepare his and Welch’s fighters, before jumping in his Buick and traveling the ten minutes to the airfield at high speed. Immediately taking to the air and heading back towards Wheeler, the pair chased the Japanese aircraft towards Pearl Harbor, raking any aircraft which entered their sights with machine gun fire.

Then Hagrid's motorcycle and sidecar is the mode of transportation you are most likely to see him arrive on.While typically unconventional, Hagrid often rode this enchanted flying vehicle which once belonged to Harry's godfather Sirius Black. In the first instalment of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Hagrid uses the motorcycle and sidecar to transport the infant Harry Potter to his new home of 4 Privet Drive, following the murder of his parents, Lily and James Potter at the hands of the vile Lord Voldemort. The enchanted bike makes a further appearance in the final instalment of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, when Harry, along with six others disguised as the underaged wizard (having drunk appearance changing Polyjuice potion) is transported by Hagrid to the Burrow. The troupe of magical folk transporting the 7 different Harry's need to ensure they use modes of transport not detectable to the wizarding community Hagrid's motorcycle perfectly fits the bill.HARRY POTTER characters, names and related indicia are © TM Warner Bros.
