Republic P-47 Thunderbolt "Kansas Tornado II"Postage Stamp CollectionThis Die-cast metal airplane model comes in 1:100 scale with plastic stand and is approximately 4 1/4 inches long with 4 3/4 inch wingspan.The P-47 Thunderbolt was a fighter-bomber used by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. Over 15,000 planes were built during its operational lifetime. With the aid of drop tanks (auxiliary fuel tanks), the P-47 could cover long distances and was feared because of its eight .50 caliber guns. The P-47 was the heaviest single engine WWII fighter and the first piston powered fighter to exceed 500 mph.This P-47 has been painted to represent "Kansas Tornado II" flown by Capt. Howard Curran of the 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group based in St. Dizier, France during the fall of 1944.

Lockheed P-38J Lightning "23 Skidoo"Postage Stamp CollectionDie-cast metal plane with plastic standThe Lockheed P-38J Lightning was an American fighter aircraft used by the US Air Force during World War II. Developed to United States Army Air Corps specifications, the P-38J had distinctive twin booms and a single, central nacelle bearing the pilot and armament. The P-38J was a formidable fighter, interceptor and attack aircraft and was also used extensively as a long-range escort fighter. The Lightning's greatest assets were her twin engines, long range, heavy payload, high speed, fast climb and concentrated firepower. The P-38J 23 Skidoo is one of the few Lightings in flying condition. It was restored in July, 1988 with markings of WWII Capt. Perry Dahl's Lightning while he was fighting in the Pacific front. 23 Skidoo is a saying from the 1920s, which refers to "getting out while the getting's good". It is currently based out of the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California.

B-25J Mitchell - Betty's Dream Postage Stamp Collection This Die-cast metal airplane model comes in 1:100 scale with plastic stand. The B-25 Mitchell is a medium bomber named in honor of General Billy Mitchell, a United States Army general who is widely regarded as the father of the US Air Force. The B-25 is a two-engine propeller driven aircraft with an H-tail configuration and is considered to be a safe and reliable aircraft. It was used extensively during World War II by the Allies, especially on the Pacific Front. Panchito was assigned to Captain Don Sailer of the 396th Bomb Group in the Central Pacific. He named it after the feisty Mexican rooster from the 1943 animated musical "Three Caballeros". It was restored to vintage flying conditions in 1986. It is available for rides at various airshows across the country and is based out of the Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation in Georgetown, DE.

Goodyear Blimp Postage Stamp Collection Die-cast metal plane with plastic stand When the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was founded in 1898, America was feeling the full effects of the Industrial Revolution. Capitalizing on that momentum and looking for unique ways to expand beyond tires, Goodyear enterered into the business of lighter-than-air balloons and aircraft. This eventually led to the creation of one of America's most enduring corporate icons, the Goodyear Blimp. The blimp was used mainly for advertising and capturing aerial views of live sporting events on Eaglevision. This allows the aircraft to display bright, multi-colored, animated words and images. While Goodyear was in the airship business before the Pilgrim was built in 1925, it is consdered the first public relations blimp for the Company. 2015 marked the 90tth year of continuous operation of the Goodyear airship program, which is the longest in history and certainly the most successful.
